Opening the ticket

Click a device to open it in the terminal on the right.

How the Lab Bench works

The left column is a library: one shelf per exam domain, each holding labs. The home labs on the Network troubleshooting shelf are the same as the Ticket Desk's tickets: each one builds a small network made for what it teaches, with its fault generated fresh every time. The other shelves fill as the later levels open (small office, small business, campus, enterprise), along with the Network-Sims as labs.

  1. Pick a lab from its shelf.
  2. Gather the evidence from the devices; your notebook keeps it.
  3. Diagnose, fix it at the source, prove it works.

Help

Working a ticket: read the ticket, gather evidence from the devices, pick what's really wrong, fix it at the source, then prove it works. Open a device from the network map, the floor plan (Physical) or the buttons above the terminal.

How help works: wrong picks 1 and 2, nothing; pick 3, Mason says where to look; pick 4, the principle that decides it; pick 5 and after, he narrows it to two, each option he strikes with its reason. He never names the answer. In the fix stage, "Ask Mason about the fix" climbs the same way.
